This policy explains how clearsecurity.vision handles cookies and similar local storage mechanisms.
1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a web browser when you visit a website. They are used for a variety of purposes — from keeping you logged in, to tracking your behaviour across multiple sites for advertising.
We also distinguish localStorage, which is a browser-side storage mechanism similar to cookies but not transmitted to our servers with each request. We use localStorage for one purpose only (see Section 3).
2. Cookies we set
We do not set any cookies on your device. Specifically, there are no:
- Analytics cookies (no Google Analytics, no Matomo, no similar)
- Marketing or advertising cookies (no Facebook Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight Tag, no retargeting)
- Session or authentication cookies (this is a static informational website — no logins)
- Third-party tracking cookies of any kind
3. localStorage: theme preference
The only browser storage we use is a single localStorage entry named theme. This stores your light/dark mode preference (light or dark) so your choice persists across page loads.
- Name:
theme - Type: localStorage (not a cookie — never transmitted to our servers)
- Purpose: Remembers your light/dark colour scheme preference
- Duration: Persists until you clear your browser's local storage or change the setting
- Data sent to servers: None — this value stays in your browser only
To clear this preference, open your browser's developer tools, navigate to the Application / Storage tab, and delete the theme entry for this domain.
4. Website analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is a cookieless, privacy-first analytics solution. It does not set any cookies, does not use fingerprinting to track individual visitors, and does not collect personally identifiable information. The data we see is aggregated: page views by country, browser type, operating system, and referrer — no individual user profiles.
Cloudflare Web Analytics complies with GDPR and does not require a cookie consent banner because no personal data or cookies are involved in its operation.
5. No third-party trackers
We explicitly confirm that the following third-party services are not in use on this website:
- Google Analytics (any version)
- Google Tag Manager
- Google Fonts (self-hosted — no outbound requests to Google)
- Facebook / Meta Pixel
- LinkedIn Insight Tag
- Hotjar, Clarity, or any session recording tool
- Any advertising or retargeting network
6. Third-party services that may process technical data
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. As part of normal CDN operation, Cloudflare processes your IP address and request metadata (page path, timestamp, browser/OS) in server-side access logs. This is a technical necessity for delivering the website, not advertising or profiling. For details, see our Sub-processors page and Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
7. Your choices
Because we set no tracking cookies, there is nothing to opt out of via a cookie banner. If you wish to clear the theme preference stored in localStorage, use your browser's developer tools as described in Section 3.
You can also configure your browser to block all cookies from this domain. Since we set none, this will have no effect on your browsing experience.
